TÜV SÜD certification renewed for the Risk, SIL and Tree modules

The TÜV SÜD certification for the Risk, SIL, and Tree modules has been renewed, following a new independent assessment. This renewal confirms that these modules continue to comply with the requirements evaluated by TÜV SÜD within the defined certification scope.

Independent confirmation of software quality

TÜV SÜD is an internationally recognized, independent organization specializing in certification, testing, and assessment, particularly for safety and reliability‑related systems. In the context of software used for industrial analyses, certification provides external confirmation that both the software and its associated development and maintenance processes meet defined standards of quality, robustness, and traceability.

The renewal of certification demonstrates that the Risk, SIL, and Tree modules are developed and maintained using controlled, documented, and repeatable practices. It confirms consistency in software behavior over time and reinforces confidence in the reliability of the results produced by these tools.

What certification renewal involves

Certification by TÜV SÜD is granted for a limited period and must be regularly renewed. Renewal is not a simple formality: it involves a new evaluation to verify that the certified modules have been properly maintained since the previous certification cycle.

This assessment confirms that:

  • software updates and corrections are managed in a controlled manner,
  • development and verification activities remain aligned with the certified framework,
  • documentation and configuration management are maintained over time,
  • the software continues to perform as expected within its certified scope.

Certification renewal therefore reflects an ongoing commitment to maintaining high software quality standards.

Certified modules

The renewed TÜV SÜD certification applies to the following modules:

  • The Risk module serves to model layers of protection or Safety Instrumented Systems using either the bow-tie method or a LOPA (Layer Of Protection Analysis) table.
  • The SIL module allows to analyze, validate and/or optimize the design and maintenance of SIS (Safety Instrumented System) architectures that evaluate the SIL (Safety Integrity Level) of safety instrumented loops.
  • The Tree module is used to model a system as a fault tree based on Boolean logic, which produces simple models suited to all sectors (aeronautics, automobile, rail, oil & gas, etc.).

In regulated and safety‑critical environments, the quality of analytical software is essential. The renewed TÜV SÜD certification provides continued assurance that the Risk, SIL, and Tree modules are developed with a high level of rigor and maintained over time in a controlled manner. It supports their use in projects where reliability, traceability, and independent third‑party assessment play a key role, whether during internal reviews, audits, or regulatory discussions.
