GRIF at Energy Asia 2025: Reliability Supporting the Energy Transition in Asia

Kuala Lumpur, June 2025 – At the Energy Asia exhibition, TotalEnergies showcased its digital solutions aimed at enhancing industrial performance and supporting the energy transition. Among these, the GRIF software suite held a prominent place at the Company’s booth.

Held every two years under the patronage of Petronas, Energy Asia is a major energy congress in the Asia-Pacific region. It brings together decision-makers, industry leaders, and experts to address key issues such as decarbonization, technological innovation, and regional cooperation. The 2025 edition was notably marked by strong engagement around sustainability and artificial intelligence.

Developed by TotalEnergies, GRIF is a proprietary technology dedicated to reliability, safety, and availability studies. It enables the modeling of complex systems and the optimization of operational performance while managing risks.

During the event, visitors were able to explore:

  • Interactive demonstrations of GRIF modules
  • Real-world use cases in energy, maintenance, and safety
  • Access to a free trial version available until the end of September 2025

"GRIF is a key asset for our Company and our partners in terms of technological excellence, risk control, cost management, and emissions reduction. It truly makes a difference, as highlighted by our Chairman and CEO, Patrick Pouyanné, during his visit to the TotalEnergies booth at Energy Asia. GRIF is the result of our researchers’ passion and expertise, serving both our operations and those of our stakeholders and partners."

Focus on the Subsidiary: TotalEnergies in Malaysia

A subsidiary fully committed to the energy transition

Established in Malaysia since 1985, TotalEnergies has developed an integrated business covering exploration and production, renewable energies, marketing, and technical services. By the end of 2024, the subsidiary will employ nearly 400 people. Its main areas of activity include:

  • Energy production: operation of several offshore blocks off the Malaysian coast, with volumes feeding the country’s liquefaction infrastructure.
  • Renewable energies: active contribution to the country’s energy transition, notably through a solar project currently under development, scheduled to go live from 2025.
  • Environmental performance: deployment of advanced technologies for methane detection, flaring reduction, and real-time energy monitoring.
  • Local engagement: concrete actions in support of local communities, including educational, environmental, and awareness programs carried out in partnership with local authorities.

Participation in Energy Asia also helped strengthen ties between the GRIF teams and local entities, exploring new synergies around reliability, safety, and operational performance.

GRIF’s presence at Energy Asia reflects TotalEnergies’ ambition to promote its digital expertise internationally, in support of safer, more reliable, and more sustainable energy.
