GRIF, chosen by CENTEC to analyze the availability of an offshore wind turbine.
The Center for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering (CENTEC), has published the results of a study conducted with the GRIF's Petri module to analyze the availability of an offshore wind turbine under preventive maintenance. The objective of this study is to assess imperfect corrective and preventive maintenance strategies based on the age of the components. The system modeling was done on a generic wind turbine installed in the Viana do Castelo wind farm in Portugal, located 18 km from the coast, with an estimated total lifetime of 25 years. The analyses were performed by Petri net with Monte Carlo simulation by considering different types of scenarios in order to assess the reliability and maintainability of the installation: logistics of production and maintenance operations (including different types of ships), mobilization time, weather conditions, wear and tear of materials...
To learn more about the scope of use of GRIF's Petri module and the conclusions of the study, see the report available on Research Gate.
Because TotalEnergies is a global multi-energy production and supply company, with the ambition of becoming a major player in the energy transition, we are continuously adapting and developing GRIF's modules to carry out predictive studies in a wide range of sectors (oil and gas facilities, wind farms, hydrogen, etc.).
